Design Chart Problems

It appears we have been experiencing some stability problems with the server that runs the design chart. This is causing some chart requests to fail, which then locks up the server, preventing further chart requests.

The engineers will be looking into the problem over the next few days. We apologise for any inconvenience and will have things back to normal as soon as we possibly can. In the meantime please do continue to use the chart facility as the failure only occurs occasionally.

Site Improvements

We have made a few small improvements to the site today. We hold our hands up to a typo in two of the patterns where we had stated US #20 needles instead of US #19 and this has been corrected.

A number of the patterns have been designed by knitonthenet ourselves so to make this clearer we have added our name under the title of the patterns we have designed. If you are interested in submitting a pattern please follow the submissions link on the home page which provides you with the relevant information.

We believe it is very important for the magazine to be about the patterns and the people we feature in the magazine not about the personalities behind it, but for those of you keen to know more about the knitonthenet team there will be a small feature about us and the magazine's aims in the next issue.

New Patterns on knitonthenet

Rooster yarns have produced these fab fingerless gloves just for us, using their new Boucle yarn.

The gloves could be decorated anyway you wish or left completely plain if you prefer.

The pattern only requires one hank of Rooster Boucle and is suitable for anyone to knit, even real beginners.

Recycle/re-use is the title of our pattern feature for keeping old sweaters going, using up bits of stash, anything to stop you throwing away.

Our first pattern, coming very soon, shows how to change a boring shop bought sweater that's past its sell by date into a gorgeous, glamorous garment. We'll let you know as soon as its online.
